“Ek Thi Ladki” (1949) is a movie starring Motilal and Meena Shorey. This movie is famous for the iconic song Laara lappa laara lappa laai rakhdaa(Ek Thi Ladki). I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie, and all these songs are just outstanding.

“Dulaari” (1949) is a movie that starred Suresh, Geeta Bali, Madhubala etc. This movie is today known as the movie that launched the career of Rafi as a playback singer with the song Suhaani raat dhal chuki na jaane tum kab aaoge.

There have been at least two movies called “Khaandaan”. One of them was released in 1965 and it had Sunil Dutt and Nutan in lead roles. But there was another movie of the same name that was released as far back as 1942.

We have been discussing one K L Saigal song as the first song of this blog for the last three months, and now we have reached a stage when we have almost exhausted all K L Saigal movie songs to be discussed. “Namoona” (1949) is a movie that had Kishore Sahu, Kamini Kaushal, Dev Anand and Leela Chitnis in lead roles. In this movie, Kamini Kaushal’s father fixes her wedding with Kishore Sahu, though she is in love with Dev Anand. And as is the case in Hindi movies, he resorts to emotional blackmail to get her to marry the person of his choice. Dev Anand, who overhears their conversation, also concurs with the old man and advises Kamini Kaushal that they needed to sacrifice their love for the sake of practical considerations.

“Kurukshetra” (1945) is one of the lesser known K L Saigal movies, as far as I am concerned. This movie had actors like K L Saigal. Nawab Kashmiri, Shaamlee, Udwwadia, Biman Bannerji, Radha Rani,Ajit,Tara,Agha Mehmood Kashmiri etc. This movie was directed by Rameshwar Sharma.
