This is a story involving the legendary, imaginary story of Ali Baba and 40 thieves, from the book ” The Arabian Nights aka One Thousand and One Nights”. The story of Arabian Nights goes into the 17th century in Arabia. King Shahryar comes to know that his wife as well his brother’s wife are not faithful. In a rage, he kills both the women and then decides that to punish women of the world, he would marry a new virgin, enjoy her in the night and then have her killed the very next day to avoid unfaithfulness.

‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ (alias ‘Shani Mahatmya’) was directed by Gunjal for ‘Shri Shyam Chitra, Bombay’. It was produced by R.B. Haldiya. HFGK Vol-III mentions that this movie was passed by the Censor Board on 14.02.1951. It was from the genre of ‘devotional’ or ‘bhakti pradhaan’ movies. ‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ has Nirupa Roy, Trilok Kapoor, Shalini, Urvashi, Nand Kishore, Sudha Bai, Parvati, Rajni, Kamlakant, Chaman Puri, Saroop and others in its cast. This movie has eleven songs all written by Pt Narendra Sharma. Music for this movie was composed by Sonik-Giridhar.
