#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
————————————————————————
The song in this post is from the movie ‘Watan Se Door-1968’. I have never watched this movie and I guess that it is not available on any internet platform too. But I had presented a song from this movie earlier here on the blog. And how I remember this song and how I get to know which movie it was is a long story which I have mentioned in my post here on the blog with the song ‘kaisaa jaadoo daalaa maa banarasee roomaal waalaa’. This song was posted on the blog on 19.07.2015. Before that our Sudhir jee had presented two songs from this movie here on the blog as per following details.
1) mehfil mein naheen to dil mein sahee – 10.11.2011
2) pyaare pyaare tere andaaz ke qurbaan gaye – 19.11.2011
When I presented the first song from this movie I didn’t have the copy of Geet Kosh Vol-IV (1961-1970) with me and therefore I could not give the details of movie in that post. However our in-house encylopeadia Shree Arunkumar jee had given the story of this movie while commenting on the first post of Sudhir jee.

ye ilm kaa sauda, ye risaale, ye kitaaben
ek shaks ki yaadon ko bhulaane ke liye hain
—– Jaan Nisaar Akhtar
The meaning of the sher is that these exchange of knowledge, these journals, these books are meant to forget memories of a person. But I write this article for remembering today, Jaan Nisaar Akhtar on his 49th Remembrance Day. He was essentially a poet but circumstances forced him to write songs for films when an arrest warrant was issued against him in Bhopal being the follower of leftist ideology. He went underground eventually landing in Mumbai in 1949 leaving behind his wife and two small children. So, to manage the family, he started writing songs for Hindi films.
Syed Jaan Nisaar Hussain Rizvi (18/02/1914 – 19/08/1976), popularly known as Jaan Nissar Akhtar was born in Gwalior. His father, Muztar Khairabadi, a well-known Urdu poet was the Magistrate in the State of Gwalior. After completion of the matriculation from Gwalior, Jaan Nissar Akhtar joined Aligarh Muslim University and completed M.A. in Urdu. He returned to Gwalior and got a job as a lecturer in Victoria College. In 1943, he got married to Safia, sister of Urdu poet, Mazaj Lucknawi. In 1947, he shifted to Bhopal where he joined Hamidia College as Head of Urdu and Persian Department. In Bhopal, he joined the Progressive Writers’ Movement.

Continuing my series of Kamsune/Ansune of Asha Bhosle, I present to you the 5th song of this series which is a thirakta machalta geet of Asha Ji from the 1968 movie Jung Aur Aman.
The song is ”Nigahon Mein Mohabbat Ka” penned by Hasrat Jaipuri and composed by the extremely talented but unsuccessful G S Kohli, the assistant to master composer OP Nayyar for a long time. And therefore, many a times when you hear a song composed by Kohli, you get a feeling that you have heard a similar sounding song. That possibly is a song composed by his Guru.

Mukesh and his Co-Singers –11
————————————————
Having covered the songs of Mukesh under the composition of Usha Khanna, I was always curious to list the duets of Usha Khanna and Mukesh.
No, it is not just picking up the duets from the table in the above post as they also sang under other composers; albeit quite a few songs.
