“Chhoti Bahu” (1971) is a movie that had Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in it. I have not seen this movie so I have no idea about the story of this movie, though the title indicated that the movie may have something to do with ladies making sacrifices for the family honour etc.

Mela (1971) is a movie I remember from my early days. I believe that , inspite of the Rajesh Khanna wave threatening to drown every non-Rajesh movie in those days, this movie did manage to do well at the box-office. Its songs also became pretty popular too, especially the Rafi-Lata duet, “Rut hai milan ki”.

I could have sworn that I had this category called “Jhumka” song in this blog, but I was wrong. I had “ghunghroo” catgory, but not “jhumka” category which is clearly an oversight on my part.

“Wo Din Yaad Karo” is a movie that was released in 1971. Though I was very much around in 1971 , I have absolutely no recollection of this movie. Obviously this movie had flopped big time. At that time, when Rajesh Khanna was ruling the roost, who was going to watch a movie starring Sanjay Khan and Nanda? No one really.

“Man Mandir” (1971), which is a new movie by the standards of this blog, starred Waheeda Rehman and Sanjeev Kumar. This movie, by most indications was a flop. This movie had some nice songs in it, though, which were popular at that time. I loved these songs though at that time I was not aware that those songs were from this movie. I have already discussed two such songs from this movie in this blog.

I love watching old movies (pre-1980, just to clarify!) and of late I’ve been watching a whole lot of them. Kala Pani, Kala Bazar, Kashmakash, Chhote Sarkar, Pagla Kahin Ka, Kasauti, Ma Beta, Waqt, Ek Bechara, Cobra Girl, Swayamvar, Raja Aur Runk, Jeene Ki Raah are just some of the movies I watched in January this year.
