“Jaaneman” (1976) was a film produced by Navketan Films -meaning Dev Anand was the producer with his brother Chetan Anand as director. The songs were composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal & written by Anand Bakshi. The playback singers used for the songs were Lata Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Anand Kumar C, Vinod Sharma, Hemlata, Mukesh & Mohd Rafi.

The cast of this movie has Ginny (debutant, Mehmood’s real life daughter), Mehmood, Helen, Bhushan Tiwari, Preeti Ganguly, Naushir Khatau and others. There were several actors who appeared in friendly appearance in this movie. Readers of this blog are aware that this year is the ‘birth centenary year’ of the legendary singer Mukesh (22.07.1923 – 27.08.1976). Earlier we had a few posts on the blog for the birth centenary celebrations. When our respected Sudhir ji and Mahesh ji started presenting posts with Mukesh songs I was under the impression that there will be post on every day starting from 22nd July to 27th August (which is Mukesh’s Remembrance Day) since many Mukesh songs are yet to be posted here. In my childhood days I remember I watched many movies with elders in the family, and mostly with brothers and cousins. I have vague memories of watching many such movies. There were many more movies released those days that I missed out on. I did not even watch them later. That does not prevent me from feeling nostalgic for many such movie titles.
Today’s movie is one such movie. This movie is ‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’.
