“Swarg Narak” (1978) was a movie made by a South Indian production house who also published the popular children’s magazine “Chandamama”. At least I think so because I found the name of B Nagi Reddy in this movie as well in the “Chandanmama” magazine. And the plot of movies that this production house made were similar to the stories published in the magazine.

Rajesh Khanna’s decline from his superstardom began in the second half of 1970s. During this period, he worked in a few movies which have been consigned to the dustbin of history. How many people, for instance recall this movie called “Bhola Bhala” ? Very few indeed.

This movie “Phaandebaaz” (1978) was rightly panned by the critics for being a hopeless movie, and so it proved. The movie failed at the box office and by now it is a forgotten movie.

Gulzar and R D Burman came together for the first time in “Parichay” (1972) and even since, they worked together in many movies till “Masoom” (1983) and gave us some memorable songs. One such movie, where they collaborated together was “Ghar” (1978).

In “Des Pardes”, Pran goes to England as an immigrant and back home his wife Indrani Mukherji and Younger brother Dev Anand wait for any information from him. Dev Anand sings this song for Indrani Mukherji, informing her that Pran has sent a gift (Nazraana) from England.

“Kartavya” (1978) was a Dharmendra-Rekha movie which for some reason has been forgotten, so much so that I have not been able to get my hands on its VCD/DVD despite trying for several weeks.

In Bollywood movies, hero and heroines would traditionally meet in gardens and would be going round the trees, much like gorillas or chimps going through their mating rituals. Being more evolved than the apes, they would sing a duet while running around trees.
