A writing career that lasted for more than four decades, and his creations continued to appear in films as late as last year (2012), ten years after his passing away from this world. In his lifetime, he was nominated for no less than 40 times for the Filmfare awards, which sounds like almost one nomination every year of his active career from 1957 to 2002. That in itself may be a record that no one may be close to in the industry. He won this award four times.
