‘Ham Deewaane’ (1964) was produced by Natubhai Shah under the banner of Young India Entertainers and was directed by Master Bhagwan. The cast included Chandrashekhar, Master Bhagwan, Mumtaz, Helen, Iftekhar, Agha, Rajan Haksar, Maruti, Kundan, Anwar, Kanchanmala etc. This film was one among many attempts by Master Bhagwan to revive his filmy career which was being reduced to acting in small roles. However, this film was also an attempt to revive the musical career of C Ramchandra who composed the songs for this film as Anna Saheb, the name he had often used when associated with the films produced/directed by Master Bhagwan.

It had Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy, Pran, Madan Puri, Anwar Hussain, Birbal, Sulochana, Baldev Khosa, Mac Mohan, Shabana, Ranveer Raj, Hareesh, Vandana Shastri, Jankidas, Jagdish Raj, Vikas Anand, Azad, Rajan Kapoor, Master Raju and others. Raza Murad, Bindu and Rajendra Nath had special appearances in this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 20.04.1978. This movie has four songs written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and R.D Burman was the composer for this movie. Asha Bhonsle, Hemant Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi and Manna Dey were the singers for the songs in this movie.

(Music Composer R.D. Burman’s Remembrance Anniversary)

Today 4th January 2025 is the 31th Remembrance Anniversary of the great music-director Rahul Dev Burman whom we fondly know by his nickname Pancham.
Rahul Dev Burman was born on 27th June 1939 and he passed away on 4th January 1994 at the age of only 54. As a tribute to him on the blog today we will enjoy a few songs composed by him. As per the statistics on the blog Pancham composed around 1755 songs for 331 Hindi movies. From these 1755 songs, so far 864 songs have been covered on the blog. So we still have over 800 Pancham composed songs to choose from.

The film was produced by Taher under the banner of Mamta Movies. The film was directed by K Pervez (Kalpataru). I have mentioned it several times that after posting the century post in the blog, I heave a huge sigh of relief and start relaxing, secure in the knowledge that the next century post was far far away. But the next century post occasion arrives way earlier (it seems to me) than expected. It demonstrates that posting 100 articles is not such a daunting task if one just avoids DOT days and posts one or two articles in a day.
