“Chakradhaari” (1954) was a B grade low budget movie as most movies with mythological/religious stories tended to be those days. Of course there was nothing B grade about the music of such movies considering that there was far too much of musical talent available those days to cater to movies of all budgets.

“Chakradhaari” (1954) was a B grade religious/mythological movie. It is that kind of movie which are given a miss by the mainstream movie watching public and only “lowbrow” movie watchers watch such movies, mostly in small towns.

“Adhikaar” (1954) is a movie that is ahead of its time. And as far as its music is concerned, it is timeless as I have been discovering. The movie has several songs of different genre and all these songs are gems.

Bolo he zameen bolo aasmaan

I was searching for this difficult to find song for more than a year. This song is from an obscure mythological movie called “Chakradhaari” (1954). The movie may be obscure, as also its songs, but this particular song had broken the C grade barrier as far as its popularity is concerned. This song in fact had rubbed shoulders with the songs of A grade movies like “Naagin”, “Aar Paar”,”Taxi Driver” etc. This song had finished 13th in Binaca geetmala final of 1954.
