The songs covered so far included one club song, one expression of love song and one mujra cum diversion song. If one has some experience of Hindi movie songs, then onecan easily guess the genre of the missing song. If there is a club song and a mujra song then where is a song sung by the housewife , singing about domestic bliss ? 🙂

Indeed, the fourth and the final song from “Charitraheen”(1974) is a pativrata Bharteeya naari” genre of song. 🙂 It is sung by Lata. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

The song is picturised on Yogita Bali and Sanjeev Kumar, with Asrani also briefly visible.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

With this song, “Charitraheen”(1974) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Here is the third song from “Charitraheen”(1974) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

THe song is picturised as a mujra song cum diversion song. It is lip synced by Alpana Chaudhary while her performance is being witnessed by Manmohan and Sanjeev Kumar. It is clear to the movie vierers, but not to Sanjeebv Kumar that Manmohan and Alpana Chaudhary have together hatched a plan to get Sanjeev Kumar drugged and then relieve him of his valuables. and Sanjeev Kumar duly obliges.

Lyrics of this song, as well as other details, have been provided by Prakashchandra.

This song is from circa 1970s, picturised on Sanjeev Kumar and Sharmila Tagore on a hill station. Do you say “mausam” ? Think again.

This song is from a movie that was released one year prior to “mausam”. Lata Mangeshkar is indeed the female singer, but the male singer here is Kishore Kumar, and the music director is R D Burman. For the record, R D Burman could do no wrong in those days. But the same could not be said about the makers of the movies in which he gave music.
