Today’s song is from the film Lalkar-1944.
This is my 1600th post on this Blog. This is the fastest century. From 1500 to 1600, it took me only 119 days ! For me, it is like a dream. I still can not believe that I wrote 1600 articles on this Blog alone. Add to it another 100+ articles on other blogs and sites. Add to it 10 printed books published. Add to it scores of books mentioning me and referring to my writings. Add to it countless friends I have gained in the last 12 odd years. Add to it…..

Today’s song is from the film Lalkaar-1972.
It is not common to see me writing on a film after 1970. I have been writing on old films since 2012 and have written more than 1100 posts so far on this Blog alone. But on a cursory look at my own figures, I find that I have written less posts on songs from films after 1970. It is certainly not because they are not good, but because my comfort zone is films before 1970, especially before 1960.

Atul ji’s 10K Song Milestone Celebrations – 1
——————————————————————–
On this blog, one thing we enjoy is, celebrations. 🙂
We are always looking for an opportunity to celebrate – and every other day, we get a reason to do so. Often it is somebody’s birthday or birth anniversary, or a milestone of a 100th or 1000th song for an artiste, or for the blog. And even if it is a death anniversary, which is not really a cause for celebration, we use the occasion to pay tribute to the concerned artiste. Many of my own posts fall in this category. An occasion gives me an opportunity to reminisce and share my thoughts.

I have mentioned in the past that Hindi movie music is like an ocean and that some of gems in this ocean are buried deep and they can be brought up only by diving deep into it.
