Hullo Atuldom
“Mehrban” (1967) as spelt in the titles of the movie was an AVM (Madras) production written and directed by A. Bhimsingh. It’s cast was headed by Ashok Kumar, Nutan, Sunil Dutt and had Ramesh Deo, Shyama, Ashim kumar, Jayanthi, Shashikala, Bharathi, Mehmood, Soodesh Kumar and Sulochana Latkar. The dialogues and lyrics were written by Rajinder Kishan and Ravi was the music director.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 87

Welcome all to the ‘Blog Ten-Year Challenge’ series where today we will have a song after a gap of almost a month. Last song posted under the ‘challenge’ was on 25.09.2020.
We missed some opportunities, but today hopefully we will have two songs in this challenge.
If we see the songs posted ten years back on this day (20.10.2010), we had only three posts on that day as given below;

4th June today.
And the day today, amongst other celebrations, is the birth anniversary of Nutan, the eminent and the most charming leading lady of the Hindi cinema.
Just the name clicks off a series of memories – memories of remarkable and brilliant assays portrayed on screen. The quintessential woman in the Indian milieu – more traditional and motherly, and yes, frisky and romantic too. Forever, the image remains in the mind of the timid, near helpless Kalyani of ‘Bandini’ (1962) – resigned to her fate, but then also driven to an extreme emotion that ends up quenching a human life.
