Looking at the video of this song adds considerably to my general knowledge about movies. For example, I was not aware that Rajesh Khanna had worked in a movie called “Aurat”(1967) and that too opposite an actress as obscure as Naazima. But then Rajesh Khanna himself was a newcomer those days.

“Taqdeer” (1967) was a Rajshree Productions movie about a family that gets separated from its sole breadwinner (Bharat Bhushan) and lives without him. Bharat Bhushan, presumed dead comes back many years later and finds himself a stranger in his own home. It was a moving tale which was nicelty picturised. The songs of this movie captured the essense of the movie wonderfully well.

“Ram Aur Shyam” (1967) was a Vijay International Production. It was directed by Chanakya. Starcast of the movie included Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Mumtaz, Nirupa Roy, Kanhaiyalal, Nazir Hussain, Sajjan, Mukri, Amar, Leela Misra, Zebunissa, Farida, Pran etc.
