Happy Navaratri, Dussehra to all in Atuldom
Today is the second last day or the penultimate day of the Sharad Navaratr also simply called Navaratri? We worship the mother goddess in her various forms viz: Shakti or Durga along with Lakshmi and Saraswati. But I am not going to describe the festival and the rituals attached with it here. Some parts of the country celebrate Dussehra as the day when Lord Rama vanquished the ten headed Demon- King Raavan. This is usually preceded by the Ram Leela being staged in some parts of the country. Lets us summarise to say that Navaratri is the festival where the good is supposed to triumph over the Evil.

Clearly the adage “once bitten, twice shy” doesn’t apply to Atulites.
At least not to Batulites (Bengaluru-based Atulites).
Otherwise there’s no reason they’d ask me to post a write-up on the blog, describing the recent gangout event. The last time I wrote a post on a Bengaluru gangout, it was more than six months after the event! By then, I’d forgotten some details – and possibly many had lost interest. 🙂

A few days ago when it was Lata Mangeshkar’s birth anniversary on 28 september 2016, I posted a Lata writeup, where I mentioned that we have been discussing a Lata song almost on a daily basis right from the beginning of this blog 8 years ago. I knew that we had more than 3070 Lata songs in the blog. I became curious to find out the number of days for which this blog is active. At first I decided to do the calculation manually, but then decided that I should let technology do the hard work for me. So, after some trial and error, I got just the excel formula that I needed. It was then that I realised that the blog was 2994 days old at that time. I mentioned this fact in the blog. I also realised that we were very close to 3000 days mark. So I contacted a few regulars of the blog and requested them for their special writeups on the occasion.

Today’s song is from film ‘Samaaj ko badal dalo’-47- a relatively unknown film. The song is a chorus song, sung by Rafi, Arunkumar Mukherjee and Manna Dey. HFGK does not mention the names of singers, but I got these names from the Rafi songs Excel sheet, corroborated by Muvyz.com and Wikipedia also. The song is composed by Khemchand Prakash. The film is produced by Prakash Pictures of the Bhatt brothers, who had become famous due to their epic films on Mythology like Bharat milap and Ramrajya etc.
