“Naiyya”(1979) was directed by Prashant Nanda for Chanda Pictures, Bombay. I became aware of this fact when I discussed the earlier songs from this movie. Initially I was under the impression that this movie was a Rajshree Productions movie and once again I reverted back to the same impression with passage of time 🙂

The new year 2018 began yesterday. We started celebrating the birthdays of artists from the first day of the year itself, by discussing a Nana Patekar song. Nana Patekar is one of many artists who chose the new year day to be born. 🙂
As far as our regulars are concerned, they are not too far behind. They are just one day behind Nana Patekar. As many as three of our regulars, namely Pradeep Raghunathan, Peevesie’s mom and Sheela ji(wife of Avinash Scrapwala) are celebrating their birthdays today on 2 january 2018. ‘Saajan Mere Main Saajan Ki’ is a movie released in 1980. It was directed by Hiren Nag and produced by Ramraj Nahata. It had a star cast of Ashok Kumar, Raj Babbar, Raj Kiran, Rameshwari, Kaajal Kiran, Shashikala, Dina Pathak, Madan Puri etc. Songs were written and composed by Ravindra Jain. I have never seen the movie and so I have no idea what it was all about.

“Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se”(1978) was inspired from Eric Segal’s immortal novel “Love Story”.
Majority of movie watchers including me, who watched “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se”(1978) did not know about the source of inspiration of the movie. The movie was a bo office hit. People wathing the movie liked it for its story and for its music. My own feeling is that the music of this movie may have played the bigger role in ensuring that the movie was a money spinner for Rajshree Productions, the makers of this movie.
