I have posted different kind of songs in this blog. There is one big category of songs which are sung atop some mode of transportation viz car, train, boat etc. I have noticed that Jeetendra, the jumping jack takes the cake when it comes to singing songs atop different modes of transportation. In addition to the usual modes of man made transportations, he has sung song atop less obvious modes of transportation too. For instance, there was one Jeetendra song sung atop an elephant. I am sure he must have sung songs riding a horse also. He may have missed singing while riding buffalo and donkey though.

In Bollywood masala songs, there is this typical situation where the hero must enter the high security den of the villain. The hero makes it to the den in disguise and the villains are unable to identify, despite his disguise often being nothing more than a thin moustache.

Jaidev served as assistants to leading music directors of his era for most of his career. On a few occasions that he got to compose music as an independent music director, he did a very good job. But it takes a lot more than just the ability to compose great music. Jaidev composed some fantastic music, but his name would not sell as a music director, so he repaetedly had to go back to his job as assistants to leading music directors viz S D Burman, Madan Mohan etc.

In Bollywood movies of 1960s and 70s, there were certain hit formulas that were adopted by all movie makers without fail. One of the hit formulas was a cabaret song by Helen. I have not counted them, but I am sure there are many such cabaret songs performed by Helen. Quite a few of them have been very popular during their time and some can even be called to have become timeless and evergreen.

There are different songs for different times and moods. When it is time for rains, it is time for love to blossom in Bollywood. That way, I have always felt that the Valentine day (and season) in Bollywood is not in the spring season, but in the rainy season.

“Dil ek Mandir”, regarded as one of the celebrated melancholic movie in Bollywood industry is full of sad songs to match, almost all of which went on to become very popular and in fact evergreen. I have already posted a couple of songs from this movie in this blog. This movie had one nice song after another coming out as if they were coming out of some assembly line.

Kati Patang was a musical blockbuster, in addition to being a box office hit. All its songs went on to become popular and some of them are counted as evergreen hits.

Prem Chopra and Bindu were the villain and the vamp in this movie. Prem Chopra had a memorable dialogue in this movie- “Prem naam hai mera, Prem Chopra”. Bindu had an entire cabaret song for herself where she declares- “Mera naam hai Shabnam, pyar se log mujhe Shabbo kahte hain”.
