Bollywood movies of 1970s typically had a “disguise” song where the hero or heroine would enter the heavy security villain’s den in disguise. Their disguise would always be as the lead dancer (s) of the music troupe that was supposed to entertain the guests of the villain.
This song is an archtypical “disguise” song as well as “villain’s den” song, where both Hero and heroine enter in disguise, along with Asrani.
In what way they are disguised and how come the villains, led by the formidable ( not to say funny) Prem Chopra are unable to detect them is not explained. And these three, hero, heroine and the jester spend much of their dancing adjacent to Prem Chopra and still go undetected, at least as long as the song was in progress.
Prem Chopra, the villain, too does a jig or two, in contravention to the model code of conduct for Bollywood baddies which prevents them from singing and dancing.
