Ajeeb zindagi hai ye

“Door Nahin Manzil”(1973), though a recent movie by the standards of this blog is an obscure movie. This movie was an International Enterprises production. It was directed by Hari Walia. The movie had Sanjeev Kumar, Reshma, Durga Khote, Pradeep Kumar, Fariyal, Manmohan, Hina, Maruti, Suresh etc in it.
Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Rafi. The song is picturised on Sanjeev Kumar, Faryal, Pradeep Kumar and a lady who could be Reshma. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.
Anjaan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Just an inquiry!
Is Reshma was a sister of popular vamp Bindu?
I’ll be happy, if some one can check & reply!

Bindu had 6 sisters, and one of them was Jaya, who was married to Laxmikant (of Lakmikant-Pyarelal). So, I wont be surprised if there is any connection between Reshma and Bindu. So far, I havent seen any.

46) The film “Dur Nahin Manzil” was first assigned to Roshan who died. Later SJ were signed for the same and Jaikishan died during its making. Suman Kalyanpur had sung the title song for Roshan. She also sang for SJ in the film: “Bezuban dil shor na..” The heroine was originally Nutan. She had acted in producer Hari Valia’s earlier venture, “Laatsaab” but due to a misunderstanding with Sanjeev Kumar, she stepped out and was replaced by Bindu’s sister (and Laxmikant’s sister-in-law) Reshma.
