Today’s song is the 5th song from the film Aahuti-50, to be discussed here. I have not seen this film, but from its second Title ” Anokhi Kurbani “, the movie seems to be about some kind of sacrifice. Whether it was for the country, family or just a Lover is not known. This was one of those films, made by a less known banner, directed by one whose name I read first time- Kulbhushan and the MD, who left no trace of him either of origin or the end- D.C.Dutt.

Today’s song is from a comparatively less known film, ‘Prem Sangeet’ (1943). It was produced and directed by WZ Ahmed, under his own banner, Shalimar Pictures, Poona. The music was by its resident MD SK Pal aka Suryakant Pal (nephew of MD Ramchandra Pal, who was with Bombay Talkies). The lyricist was Bharat Vyas. The cast of the film was Neena, Jairaj, H Prakash, Shanta Thakkar, Rajkumari Shukla, Tiwari, Anwar, Gulab, Randhir and many more. The song is sung by Bharat Vyas and Shanta Thakkar.

Those who have followed cricket for as long as I have, old time cricket followers may recall that test cricket centuries used to be quite rare. One test Indian batsman managed to score one test century in one test series then it waas considered a major cricketing achievement. One Indian cricketer scoring more than one test century in a test series was a rarity.
