Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 72

This date ten years ago (viz 20 July 2012) saw nine songs from nine different movies getting covered in the blog. So, instead of resting on the laurels (as previous day was fourth birthday of the blog), we posted songs with renewed enthusiasm on this day. 🙂

As many as six movies (out of nine) whose songs were covered on 20 July 2012 have since been YIPPEED. That leaves us with only three movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge ten years later on 20 July 2022.
“Shehzaada”(1972) is one of the three eligible movies flog Blog Ten Year Challenge today.
“Shehzaada”(1972) was produced by Surinder Kapoor and directed by K Shankar for Amar Chhaaya Productions, Bombay. The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Raakhee, Madhan Puri, Karan Dewan, Pandhari Bai, P.Jairaj, Sunder,Mohan Choti, Gulshan Bawra, Sonoo/Sonu Arora, Badri Praad, Halam, Varlaxmi, Veena, Shree Ramshashtri, Bazid Khan etc in it.
“Shehzaada”(1972) had five songs in it. Four songs have already been covered in the blog. Here are the details of the songs covered in the blog so far:-

The fifth and final song from the movie is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. It is penned by Rajinder Krishan. R D Burman is the music director. The song is picturised as a birthday song on a kid. Raakhi is the mother of the child while Rajesh Khanna , the father is seen cooling his heels in jail. The song is lip synced by Halam(South)and Varlaxmi. Pandhari Bai, Veena, Sundar etc are also visible in this birthday celebration song.

With this song, all the songs of “Shehzaada”(1972) get covered in the blog. The movie thus joins the list of movies that have been YIPPEED in the blog.
