“Daku Bhupat” (1960) is an extremely obscure movie by now. The movie was a Jalaruha Production movie. Ramesh Gupta was the director and the movie had N T Rama Rao, Anjali Devi, Ramesh Kumar, Nandu, Majmudar etc in it. It appears that the movie was a remake of some hit Telugu movie, or perhaps dubbed version of the Telugu movie. Not just the actors of Telugu movie industry, even singers from South Indian movie industry were used in this movie. In other words, the songs were resung in Hindi by South Indian singers and used in the Hindi version.

I am writing again today to document another very important interaction; an interaction that has been a dream for me for many months now. I am in San Diego today, and the local time is 2.00 am. “Miss Coca Cola” (1955), it turns out , had the same storyline as “Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke” (1969). Interestingly, “Miss Coca Cola” (1955) flopped miserably, wheras “Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke” (1969) was a big success at the box office.
