Greetings to Faryal on her birthday today (3rd November).
When she appeared on the film scene in 1965-66, the she was christened as the Sophia Loren of the Indian film industry. Considered to be one of the more daring cabaret dancers on screen, she actually expressed her extreme dislike for it, stating that primarily she is not a dancer, she never trained to be. Here is a quick quiz from me (searching, googling etc. allowed). Which song was the 5000th song in the blog ? Easy, you say, it is the song Hamen to loot liya milke husnwaalon ne (Al Hilaal)(1958). Alright, here is the next question- who lip syncs the immmortal qawwaali ? It is difficult, but not difficult for those who have gone through the huge writeup on this song in the blog. 🙂 The artist lip syncing this song is called Sheikh.
