The more songs I post in this blog, the more I realise how less I know about the songs of the past. There are so many gems lying forgotten that if we can rediscover them all, we will have hundreds, if not thousands of re discoverd wonderful songs that have been left behind for our enjoyment by some great masters of yesteryears.

Here is an energetic song from “Coolie” (1983) that will cheer its listeners up. The prerequisite to enjoying this song is that one should not look for logic in the plot of the movie and enjoy the songs in isolation for their fun value. not as a part of the movie.

“Panchaayat” (1958) is not a movie that will ring too many bells. This was a movie with Raj Kumar and Shyama in lead roles. If this movie deserves to be remembered, then it would be for its music. This movie had music by Iqbal Qureshi. Shakeel Numani was the lyricist.

“Daag” (1952) was a Mars and Movies Production. It was directed by Amiya Chaudhary. The movie had Dilip Kumar, Usha Kiran, Kanhaiyalal, Jawahar Kaul, Leela Misra, Krishnakant, Nimmi, Lalita Pawar, Chandrashekhar etc in it.

“Josheela” (1973) was a movie featuring Dev Anand and Hema Malini. The makers of this movie were expecting the movie to succeed like “Johny Mera Naam” which had the same pair. But lightening did not strike the second time and the movie failed.

“Naya Zamaana” (1971) was one of the first movies where Dharmendra and Hema Malini were seen together. In this movie, Dharmendra plays a union leader of a mill, whereas Hema Malini plays the daughter of the mill owner.
