I have not counted the number of songs sung by Rafi for Shammi Kapoor, but it is high time I did that. There are so many of them, and it is amazing how Rafi could summon so much energy and enthusiasm every single time he had to sing a song for Shammi Kapoor. Just about everyone of these songs are gems, that have stood the test of time.

I was neither aware of this movie called “Ye Dil Kisko Doon” (1963) nor this song from the movie. But the obscurity of this movie is easily explainable when you find out who the lead actor of this movie is. It is Shashi Kapoor- enough said. 😀

Here is a song that falls in the later category, viz this song is best enjoyed as a stand alone song. This song is from a movie called “Paalki” (1967) and this story was as retrograde and illogical as any that Hindi movies can subject their followers to.
