We all know that Shammi Kapoor married Geeta Bali in 1950s, but did he work with her in any movies the way his nephews (Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor) worked in movies with their wives ? I am told that “Mujrim” (1958) was one such movie.

Bollywood movies and Indian Railways are two of the major unifying factors for this vast nation of India. And these two often come face to face. We have people sitting in railway trains and singing songs (ask beggars on local trains) and on the other hand we have movies depicting songs sung in trains.

C H Atma was a singer who was a devotee of K L Saigal and sang in K L Saigal style. There were many people who sang in Saigal style in 1940s during K L Saigal’s heydays. But C H Atma continued to sing in Saigal style in 1950s even when playback singing style had changed and Bollywood had moved on from 1940s.

Of late, I have been posting songs from “Aab e Hayaat” (1955) in this blog. Most of the songs in the movie have been sung by Geeta Dutt and picturised on the heroine, though I have also posted a song sung by Asha Bhonsle ( picturised on Helen) and one sung by Hemant Kumar ( picturised on Premnath).
