Today’s song – it is a Bhajan – is from the film Patit Paawan-(1955).
The “Same Name Confusion” is applicable not only to artistes and others working in films, but it fully applies to Film Titles as well. In fact, film titles are more of a culprit than the people working in films, because the incidence of repetitions is several times more in film titles. A field where the Same Name film is made in 7 different years is more dangerous than the same names of artistes, which may not be more than 3 or 4 operating in the same period to cause confusion. That is the reason a film should not be mentioned without its year in which it is censored/ released to avoid confusion.

Today’s song is from the film Aaj aur Kal (1947).
This was actually an unique film having an unusual storyline in which was shown a City Of Future i.e. a city of the year 2047 ! Hindi film industry is not known to make films based on scientific or science fiction stories. 99.99 % filmmakers did not dare make such films for fear of losing money if the film fails. However, its not that such films were not made at all, but their number would not fill even the number of fingers on both hands !

Today’s song is from the film Akash Pari (1958).
The film industry is a Gold mine for some people and it is a big crater of Mud for some people. It is not that a well established famous film company or a filmmaker does not suffer loss due to a flop film, but new entrants, who enter this field with a hope to make a lot of money, frequently end up with unforeseen obstacles which forces them to dump their filmmaking adventure midway.

Today’s song is from the film Subah Ka Tara (1954).
Today’s song is a special song. Firstly, it is the last song of this film to appear here, thus making this film an “YIPPEE” film and secondly it is my 1234th post on this Blog ( it is a serial number 1-2-3-4, for those readers who need an explanation.).

Today’s song is from a film made in Madras – ‘Naya Aadmi’ (1956).
The film was made by Jupiter Films, Madras, simultaneously along with the Telugu film ‘Santosham’. The cast was mainly from the South, taking few Hindi actors for the Hindi film, like Anwar Hussain, Gope and Helen (her first Telugu film incidentally, when she danced in film ‘Santosham’ also). The Music Director pair was Vishwanath – Rammurthy (their first Hindi film) with 8 songs and Madan Mohan with just 3 songs. The cast was Anjali Devi (South), NT Rama Rao, Jamuna, Raja Sulochana etc. For the Hindi lyrics it was, of course, Rajendra Krishna- the South’s favourite.

Today’s song is from a C grade costume film ‘Aan Baan’ (1956).
I was in two minds while searching for songs of this film on YouTube. Firstly, whenever I tried to find a song of this film, invariably YouTube presented songs from the film ‘Aan Baan’ made in 1972. After getting tired of this behaviour of YT, I got an idea and I asked for songs from ‘Aan Baan’ (1972). Lo and behold ! YT promptly gave me songs from ‘Aan Baan’ (1956) ! I was in a fix whether to pat my back for this idea or to curse YT for its dumbness.

Today’s song is from the film Aap ki Marzi aka As you please-(1939).
The Talkie era started with the beginning of the 1930s decade, i.e. in 1931. By 1939, it entered the last year of that decade. Within the first 9 years, the film industry had shed its skin several times before beginning a new phase in the 40’s. Most artistes of the early Talkie era were those who came over from the Silent films. Many such artistes ended their careers while the remaining ones began ending their careers. While all this happened there were new entrants with their own new styles of acting.

Today’s song is from the stunt film Miss Good Night-(1960).
C grade stunt and action films were popular in a section of society, all over India, right from the Silent film era. This type of ” Maar-Dhaad ” films reached the Popularity peak during the 40s and the 50s, but by the beginning of 1961 onwards such films were less popular and within a few years the C grade stunt/action films were a thing of the past.
