Centuries – pivotal events. And always welcome. Give us a quantized measure of manageable progress. Like one part of a lo..ong project accomplished. Or like completing one cycle of an endless process. Would we like to compare with the earth going around the sun? Maybe not a good idea. A century taking 365 days to complete. Or maybe compare to Victor Trumper and Don Bradman and Majid Khan – getting a century in the very first session of a test match. Because I do not remember to have heard about it earlier or read about it or ever listen to its songs earlier.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 13

This day ten years ago viz 27 January 2012 was a lean day for the blog. Just one song was covered on that day. The song was Chhaaya hai samaa mera dil hai jawaan from “Qaidi”(1957). The movie made its debut in the blog with this song.
“Qaidi”(1957) was produced by F C Mehra and directed by Mohammad Hussain for Eagle Films, Bombay. The movie had Padmini, Suresh, Anwar Hussain, Helen, Agha, Ragini, Leela, Johny Walker, M Kumar, Kamal Mehra, Rajan Kapoor etc.in it. This ‘B’ grade action-oriented film was released in January 1957, exactly 65 years ago.

23rd January 2022
Today 23rd January ’22 is the one hundred and twenty-fifth birth anniversary (born on 23rd Janunary, 1897) of our great leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. On this occasion as a tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose we listen a song from the recent movie ‘Gumnaami’ (2019).
I watched this movie on OTT platform last week and would like to mention here or rather I would like to request that every Indian should watch this movie. I think this movie was made in Bangla and Hindi language. The version available on OTT is the Bangla version. But major part is in Hindi and English so anybody can easily understand this movie.
The movie is based on the Mukherjee commission findings and the research movement taken by Mission Netaji and the later events.
