After the gangout session, as everyone dispersed and proceeded to their respective destinations, Srinivas (SignalTimer) and I headed to the local train station, that is just like across the road from the gangout meeting place. We took the train going south; we had a visit scheduled, to meet another common friend who is beset with the same passion of the Hindi film music from the Golden Era. The name is Kushal Gopalka. Some of the group members in Bombay may be familiar with this name, as he is active in this space, in a very different and interesting manner.

After having amicably negotiated the breakfast time, the gang members descended again to the secret basement chambers, to start the day’s proceedings in earnest. I will have to now write a little bit more about Bombay syndicate members, as we were getting more and more familiar with every passing minute. The most energetic and the most engaging personality of the hour was definitely the IndiaMan. He has a joke ready for every occasion, for every topic. This rare offering comes to this blog at the express request of AK ji. I remember that a while back, someone, maybe AK ji only, had sent a message that this song needs to be searched. At that time, the name of the female singer accompanying Mahendra Kapoor was not known with certainty, and some guesses were being suggested. Anyway, I received a message from AK ji yesterday night, asking whether this song is traceable. I reproduce his message below.
There was a wonderful Mahendar Kapoor song (a duet) in the late 60s/early70s: Teri zulf mein chunke champe ki kaliyaan, teri maang ko motiyon se sazaa dun/ Mera vash chale to ae jaane tamanna, tujhe main bahaaron ki malika bana dun from Jaan Bachi Laakho Paaye, composed by an unheard duo called Ajay-Vishwanath. Very popular on radio, but seems to have vanished. I am surprised that it Is not on YT. Any idea of the song?
