I have posted a few songs from “Deedaar” (1951) but the most well known song from the movie is not one of them.

When I started this blog,remembering which songs I had posted and which were yet to be posted was easy in the beginning. One could remember it in one’s mind. But as the number of songs increased, I needed to keep track of them, because sometimes ( on two or three occasions) I repeated the same song. Thankfully some of my alert readers pointed this fact out to me, and I replaced the duplicated song with another song.

The movie “Jab pyaar kisi se hota hai” (1961) had music by Shankar Jaikishan, lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri, songs by Rafi and Lata, the lead actress was Asha Parekh. All that this movie needed was Shammi Kapoor.

This song was among the most popular songs of 1970s, especially among pre teens like me. But I had no inkling which movie this song was from, though I guessed that this song must be from some well known movie.

I had once mentioned that the version of song seen in the movie and heard in the records was often different because they were recorded on two separate occassions. Imagine a great song being recorded not once but twice ! Once for the movie sound track, and once for the record company.

Mohabbat ke maaron ka haal

In “Baawre Nain” (1950), Mukesh did the playback singing for the hero (Raj Kapoor) whereas Raj Kumari and Geeta Dutt sang for Geeta Bali, the heroine. But they were not the only playback singers in this movie.
