‘Pooja’ (1954) is a social drama in a village setting. The film is produced under the banner of Verma Films, Bombay, and is produced and directed by Bhagwandas Verma. The main cast of actors includes Bharat Bhushan, Purnima, Om Prakash, Badri Prasad, Ulhas, Shakuntala, Heeralal, Raj Mehra, S Nazir and Jankidas etc. The film has nine songs in all, and the lyrics are shared by Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri. This is one of those few songs that Mohammed Rafi sang for Music Director Anil Biswas for the film ‘Heer’ (1956). Eight songs from this film already posted in the blog. They are all very touching song. This is a film on the legend of Heer-Ranjha, a folk lore of Punjab. Much of the folk music and poetry from this region is devoted to such legendary love stories like Heer-Ranjha, Sohni-Mahiwal and Mirza-Sahibaan. This song ‘ le ja uss ki du’aayen ho jo tera ho na sakaa ‘ is the ninth song to appear in the blog.

“Kashish” (1980) is a movie of recent vintage by the standards of this blog, but I had never heard of this movie before. And very little informations seems to be available about this movie. Accordng to imdb, this movie was direced by written and directed by Amin Q Chaudhary and this movie had Navin Nischol, Vinod Mehra and Reena Roy. That plus the information that B R Ishara was also involved in writing the story, is all the information that seems to be available about this movie.
