Careers in the film industry span a spectrum that goes from one act wonders, to artists that spend a lifetime in the films, with active careers spanning four, five or six, or even seven decades. Today is the 15th of August ֠a date that has a very special meaning and significance for all Indians, wherever they may be in this world. For it was on the 15th of August 1947 that India got its independence from British rule.
This date is therefore understandably celebrated by Indians. It is a national holiday in the country too.
