“Magroor” (1950) is quite a nice and wonderful movie. I became aware of this movie thanks to its review in Memsaab’s blog. I loved this movie.

Though I was aware of a movie called “Ishaaraa” (1964), I was not aware that another movie of the same name was released in 1940s too.

“Pooran Bhagat” (1933) was one of the earliest Hindi “talkies”. It had actors like Anwari Bai, Kumar, K L Saigal, K C Dey, Kapur, Tara. It had some memorable songs in it that were sung by K C Dey and K L Saigal.

I had not heard of this movie called “Pagle” (1950). This by now obscure movie had actors like Sherry, Jagirdar, Begum Para, Agha Jan, Pratima Devi,Cuckoo etc in it.

When I was young, listening to songs on radio (and specially on Radio Ceylon) was a much looked forward to activity by younsters and grown ups alike. Like always, parents frowned on this activity, because in their opinion, kids should concentrate on their studies, instead of such morally corrupt activities like watching movies and listening to their music. 🙂
