#the Decade of Forties – 1941 – 1950 #
—————————————————————
In this post I am presenting a song from the ‘1950’ movie ‘Dushmani’. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 05.08.2016 with its song ‘aahon mein basaa hai koi ik baar to aajaa’. This song was presented by our Shri Sadanand Kamath jee. The song presented by him is a nice song to listen to and I had quite listened to it then many times. However none of the other songs from this movie have been posted later so far.

Today’s song is from a hit film ‘Gunsundari’ (1948).
What is the formula to make a hit film ? No one ever had any answer for this question, so far in the film industry. Had there been an answer, 99 % of films would have been hits. However, in my opinion, there could be only one answer – LUCK ! Even if you analyse all the hit films till today, I doubt if the right answer could be found.

Regulars who notice the day and post number of our posts may have noticed that today is day number 5901 for the blog. It means yesterday the blog completed 5900 day of its existence.
Regulars who noticed yesterday’s day number may have also noticed that yesterday’s post number was 18497. In the past, when I pursued “records” more keenly, I would have posted the century post 18500 on the blog day 5900. But with time, you stop giving too much importance to these landmarks.

This article is his 1400th contribution in the blog as a guest poster.
This is my 1400th post on this Blog. For me, it is like a big dream. I feel I will wake up and find that this figure was only a dream figure ! But looks like it is all real.
While I am glad for this new Milestone, it is still a mystery how it has happened. When I retired from my service in 1998 and later from all professional activities in 2010, I was thinking what to do now. Then one day I remembered about my old notebooks in which I had written about the old films which I saw in my younger days and I opened those Pandora’s boxes. A new world opened before me. I bought a Laptop and learnt how to operate it from my grandchildren, who seemed to be born with that knowledge ! I was 71 years old then.

The film cast consisted of Khursheed, Vasanti, Arun Ahuja, E Bilimorea, Ghori, Kesari, Khatoon, Nagendra, Rewa Shankar etc. 1941 was the beginning of the second decade of the talkie films. Many actors, singers, MDs and directors who rolled over to talkie films from the silent era, slowly started retiring and the new generation took over slowly. Actors like Nagendra, Rewa Shankar, Ghori, Kesari, Khatoon, and Bilimorea who were in this film ended their careers in the next few years.
