I cannot but help notice that the festivals of Holi and Deepawali are almost diametrically opposite to each other. They fall six months apart. Holi is observed on Poornima. Deepawali is observed on Amawasya. Holi is celebrated in day time (mostly first half of the day). Deepawali is celebrated at night time. On the day of Holi, roads are deserted. Public transport services that are usually jam packed run empty on this day. During Deepawali, public transport services run overbooked and there is no way one can get accomodation on trains on this day.

Relatives of such peoples await them to celebrate the festival together. I too have gone through similar situations in my working life (But those details are not the part of this post today.)
Life is hard and life is not the same for all. For some it is a happy diwaalee and for some it might be ‘sad diwaalee’ too. Still, we have to keep our morale high and not give up hope.
