Ravi, one of the most prolific music directors who tended to give hits in a clutch did not believe in lifing tunes, though he admitted to being inspired from songs that he had heard. And he would change the tunes of his inspiration so nicely that few people could guess the source of his inspiration.

I am surprised to see that as many as two memorable Holi songs are from 1980s. But when I look at the credentials of the lyricists and the music directors of these songs, I realise that they were very much throwbacks of the past, and so one should not necessarily be surprised that they came with such evergreen songs on the wrong side of the golden era of Bollywood music.

“Bathroom singing” is quite a popular hobby with many people. One reason for bathroom singing is that it is the only place where one could sing without being disturbed. Another esoteric reason is to tell people that you have occupied the bathroom. This is useful in case the door of the bathroom does not get locked ( especially useful for those staying in hostels).

Music director Ravi deserved much more credit than he actually received as a music director. I have mentioned it in the past that a large number of iconic songs from Bollywood movies are his creations. Just name the subject, and he has an iconic song or two on the subject.
