“Kabhi Kabhi” (1976) is a movie whose music was quite unlike the music prevalent in Hindi movies at that time. The music of this movie had a retro feel about it and music lovers liked that. The songs of this movie became popular and they in fact have outlived most songs of that era.

Ye samaa ye rut ye nazaare

“Do Kaliyaan” (1968) is one of those movies that I have actually watched (albeit on TV) and the only thing I recall about this movie is that Baby Sonia (now known as Nitu Singh) had played a double role in this movie (and that is why this title called “Do Kaliyaan” viz “two buds”).

Hindi movie songs are reputed to be sung by the hero and heroine while running around trees. But what happens when the lady has injured herself and is unable to even walk, let alone run ? Does the hero abandon her and runs around trees with some other lady ? Not if the hero is Sunil Dutt. Sunil Dutt is one hero who would take care of his ladies in their moments of need.
