“Muhabbat Isko Kahte Hain” (1965) is a movie starring Shashi Kapoor and Nanda. Most people may not be familiar with the movie, but the songs of this movie are wonderful songs.

“Jab se Tumhe Dekha Hai” (1963) is a lesser known movie from the past. It had Pradeep Kumar and Geeta Bali in lead roles. As was the case with most movies of those days, the songs of this movie too are nice to listen to.

I have mentioned it in the past that “Saweraa” (1958), though a forgotten movie, was a musical blockbuster with some wonderful songs in it.

Party songs/club songs where a female dancer sings and dances became a staple diet of Hindi movies in 1950s. Geeta Dutt was one of the first (if not the first) singer who sang such songs. “Ham Sab Chor Hain” (1956) was a light hearted movie which was written and directed by I S Johar. This movie had some interesting comedy songs in it that are nice to listen to.

I am surprised to realise that I have discussed only one song from “Naukri” (1954). This movie had some very nice songs in it.

“Sahaara” (1958) is one of those movies that have been totally forgotten with time. But when one watches the movie, or listens to the songs, one realises that this movie and/or its songs deserve to be much better known instead of lying forgotten.

“Chakradhaari” (1954) was a B grade religious/mythological movie. It is that kind of movie which are given a miss by the mainstream movie watching public and only “lowbrow” movie watchers watch such movies, mostly in small towns.

“Anhonee” (1952) is one of the lesser known movies with Raj Kapoor and Nargis in it. The movie apparently failed at the box office. The songs of this movie are decent songs to listen to, though.

I was not aware of this movie called “Aage Badho” (1947). As I can see, this movie had Dev Anand and Khursheed in lead roles.
