Another one of those songs that must find its due place on this blog. This is a gem of a Talat rendition, that has been a favorite of mine since childhood. As I listened to it again today, I checked and realized it is not yet posted. And so here it is, a very melodious and hummable soft creation that simply steals into your heart.

Taansen (1943), a Ranjit Movietone productions, is rated as one of the major hit movies of Saigal Saab, right up there with Devdas, Yahudi Ki Ladki an Street Singer. True to the primary subject, this film is a musical bonanza of the first order. Directed by Jayant Desai, the film carried music compositions by the great Khemchand Prakash. There are 13 songs in this film, and the lyrics are shared between DN Madhok and Pt. Indra.

In Hindi movies, actors tend to sing song at just about any occasions, including when they are travelling. we have several rail songs, car songs, chariot songs etc in Hindi movies where actors, not content with travelling in silence, break into a song.
