This blog has crossed the figure of 6700 songs which have been discussed during the last 4 years 2 months. This prompted me to turn to statistics page of the blog. I counted that this blog has so far covered 298 music directors (MDs), 234 lyricists and 393 singers. These are significant figures compared with the total songs covered in the blog.

Today (23 september) is the birthday of Kedar Nath Bahttacharya, who is known to music lovers as Kumar Sanu. Kumar Sanu made his debut as a playback singer in Hindi movies in 1987 with “Aandhiyaan” (1987). He shot to fame with the songs of “Aashiqui” (1990) which became a rage with music lovers.

Today (23 september) is the death anniversary of Rajinder Krishan, an underestimated lyricist but who in reality dominated lyrics writing during the golden era of Hindi movie music. Among all the lyricists figuring in this blog, Rajinder Krishan has the second highest number of songs (554), behind Majrooh Sultanpuri (582).
