1977 ‘Alaap’, a classic film, produced and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee with star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Chhaaya Devi, Asrani, Om Parkesh, Farida Jalal etc had superb music by Jaidev and beautiful lyrics of Dr. Harivanshrai Bachchan and Dr. Rahi Masum Raza. There were eleven songs, and two out of them were in two parts. Since those two songs, viz ‘Mata Saraswati’ and ‘Aayee ritu saawan ki’ were combined and presented for the Blog, all, except the present song, are already covered. I may get first time credit to put ‘Alaap’ in the list of ‘Movies-All songs covered’.

A few days back I got a very personal email from our Sudhir Kapurji. This was a personal invite for contributing to the blog on the occasion of it reaching 10000 songs. At that time we were on song number 9720. Today before writing this when I visited the blog I see we are at song number 9750. So it is an alarm bell for slow pokes like me to send contributions to Atul at the earliest. Also when I saw the mail I had mentally decided that whatever I send till the D-Day of our blog should be happy and peppy songs. So here I am with my own version of an invitation song.

“Khamosh Nigaahen”(1946) is an extremely obscure movie by now. Hardly any information is available about this movie. Some vague information available about this movie suggest that it was produced by Roop K Shorey and directed by Moti B Gidwani. This movie had Pran, Manorama, Al Nasir, Subhashini, Zahoor Shah etc in it.
