#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (A tribute to Sahir Ludhianvi)
—————————————————————————————
Today 8th March’2023 is the 102nd birth anniversary of poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi.
He was born on this day in 1921 (08.03.1921) and left this mortal world on 25.10.1980.
Much and much has been written about Sahir Ludhianvi and his poems in print media, digital media and on this blog too.
There is nothing new that I am going to write now, but yes, there is still too much that the upcoming generations are going to read and understand about Sahir Ludhianvi. Sahir Ludhianvi has immortalized him in his timeless poems and classics on the wide ranging issues that are and will ever be relevant to humanity forever.
As long as ‘emotions’ will exist in ‘humans body’ Sahir’s poems will be sung and people will find their expressions in the words of Sahir. As long as people dream about a ‘better future’ and continue to ‘hope’ for a ‘new beginning’ Sahir’s words will be motivating them.
The latest in this series was the revival of Sahir’s songs in the movie ‘Chup-2022’.
Then there was a discussion in a group of Sahir Ludhianvi fans on a social media platform regarding relevance of Sahir’s poems in today’s world and the socio-political conditions existing in today’s world.
Well, I will also taking my thoughts further on Sahir’s poetry, its relevance to me as a ‘citizen’ and as ‘common man’ who loves ‘cinema’ and ‘HFM’, that I will be discussing in future on the blog.
For today, as a tribute to Sahir Ludhianvi we will listen to a song written by him for the movie ‘Chambal Ki Kasam-1979’.
‘Chambal Ki Kasam-1979’ was directed by Ram Maheshwary for ‘M.P.D. Productions’.
It was produced by V L Murlidhar.
It had Raj Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Moushmi Chatterjee, Farida Jalal, Ranjeet, Nirupa Roy, Paintal, Gopal Sehgal, R. Tiwari, Usha Kiran, Peace Kanwal, Jagdish Raj, Nazir Hussain, Gufi, Paro Devi, Maruti, Uma Khosla, Raj Rani, Master Bhagwan, Gurucharan, Usha (Gwalior), Pandit Ganga Prasad (Gwalior), Mansaram, Master Rajesh, Master Rahul, Master Sonu, Master Rajiv, Baby Shaloo, and Manu Arora.
Pradeep Kumar makes a guest appearance in this movie, whereas Amjad Khan makes a special appearance in this movie.
Story of this movie was written by M.K. Tamanna and Screenplay was written by Benoy Chatterjee.
Dialogues of this movie were written by Sagar Sarhadi and Safdar Hussain. Additional Dialogues were by Ela Maheshwary.
Editing for this movie was done by D.N. Pai and M.S. Shinde.

The following six songs have been posted from this movie earlier on the blog.

Today’s song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. It is lip-synced on screen by Moushumi Chatterjee. It is a ‘female drunkard’ song where the lady is pretending to be drunk. It is my guess that she is trying to get the man to get intoxicated. Ranjeet is the drunk ‘male’.
We can also see Raj Kumar and one other actor (whom Raj Kumar guns down ) in the picturization of this song.
Let us listen to this ‘intoxicated’- song penned by Sahir, and beautifully sung by Lata Mangeshkar and equally beautifully composed by Khayyam Saab…

Lyrics
kuchh aur bahak
jaaun
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
khil jaaun
mahek jaaun
khil jaaun
mahek jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
kam kam hai
abhi nashaa
kam kam hai
abhi masti
kam kam hai
abhi nashaa
kam kam hai
abhi masti
huh
thhodi si abhi pee
thhodi si abhi pee hai
thhodi si abhi li hai
hasrat abhi baaki hai
tu aaj ka saaqi hai
peene de
pilaane de
kuchh rang pe aane de
ae ae ae ae ae ae
huh
kam kam hai
kam kam hai
abhi nashaa
kam kam hai
abhi masti
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
machle huye is dil ko o
kuchh aur machalne de
machle huye is dil ko o
kuchh aur machalne de
shhh a a
aisi jaldi
aisi jaldi bhi hai kya
garm hone de fazaa
raat dhhalne de zaraa aa
shauk palne de zaraa
dagmagaane de badan
tez hone de lagan
huh
machle ae
machle huye is dil ko o
kuchh aur machalne de
lehraaun
lehak jaaun
lehraaun
lehak jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
rag rag mein
utarne de ae
jazbaat ki garmi ko
rag rag mein
utarne de ae
jazbaat ki garmi ko
hunh hunh
dil aur dhadakne..
dil aur dhadakane de
aag aur bhadakne de
tab husn savaa hoga
aalam hi judaa hoga
tab husn savaa hoga
aalam hi judaa hoga
aa aa aa aa aa aa aa
huh
rag rag mein ae
rag rag mein
utarne de ae
jazbaat ki garmi ko
sholaa si dahak jaaun
sholaa aa si dahak jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
tab mere kareeb aana aa
kuchh aur bahak jaaun
