#1300th Post# Chal Saathhee chal… chal saathhee chal …

In my previous post here, I have described how I discovered this great musical blog and how I become associated with it first as a visitor and subsequently as a lyrics contributor. I had developed some inclination (flair?) for writing from my younger days. My first article was published in a Marathi newspaper ‘Dainik Shivshakti’ published from Akola (Maharashtra). My article was about cricket where I had expressed my views about the dropping of Chetan Chauhan from the Indian cricket Team of 1980-1981.

After starting as a lyrics contributor I became a frequent visitor on the blog. I had discovered a vast treasure trove of Hindi Music here. Moreover I was also reading the detailed posts of senior contributors on this blog that enriching my knowledge of Hindi Film Music of the golden years of Hindi Cinema.

Today’s song is a trio from an obscure film Oonchi Haveli-1955.

Though the HFGK mentions this film as a social film, from the photos of this film which I have seen, this film looks more of an action packed Costume drama of B grade. I am calling it a B grade film, because the cast of this film has featured well known artists of that time. It had Nirupa Roy (as a Stunt Girl)), Karan Dewan, Lalita Pawar, Bhagwan, Janaki Das,Yashodhara Katju, B.M.Vyas, Indira Bansal, Heera Sawant and many others, including a Guest artist-N5iranjan Sharma. Music Director was Pt. Shivram Krishna.

#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #

I discovered this blog in the year 2009 while searching for songs penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. My first comment on this blog was on the song ‘kashtee kaa khaamosh safar hai’ on 15 September 2009 more than two months after this song was posted on the blog on 12 July 2009. I had sent this comment after some hesitation because I was new to blogs and for that matter to internet itself and I was not sure whether my comment will get published. Fortunately, it all went well. 🙂 My comment got published :-

I love the music and specifically Hindi music/songs from old Hindi films and try to collect them in my collection i.e. cassettes or cds . Now a days I am collecting the lyrics for old songs and which contains true poetry and are true gems in our Hindi films history.

The great work being carried by you deserves much accolades and NOT a mere thank you, since the work being carried by you is priceless and very very precious for peoples like me.

After this initial comment, I kept visiting this blog regularly for those songs that I remembered from my younger days and which were missing from my collections of cassettes. My understanding of this blog then was that some of the songs that I was looking for were available here while others were not available.
