“Kismat” had some superb music composed by O P Nayyar. Though Rafi was not there to sing ( he had his differences with O P Nayyar those days) and Mahendra Kapoor had done a decent job filling in for him. And O P Nayyar had used the voice of Shamshad Begum for a song too.

In 1950s and 1960s, there tended to be movies titled after important landmarks. For example, “Lal Quila” “Gateway of India” etc. These movies tended to go into oblivion soon after their release.

Rafi has sung many drunkard songs in his career. And they were mainly picturised on Raj Kumar, Dev Anand etc. I was not aware that Rafi had sung a drunkard song for Rajendra Kumar too.

I have posted songs of many categories in this blog. One of these categories is called drunkard songs. This song is a drunkard song, but with a difference. Here , it is a lady that gets drunk and then she sings this song. It is nice to see that women’s lib had taken place in drunkard songs as early as 1967.
