Hullo Atuldom
There are so many possible songs to go with today’s post. Songs that will do justice to the personality and versatile talent of the concerned celebrity.
He was an actor born with acting in his genes. He was not a star-kid but a star-heir, facing the camera for the first time when he was barely 2 or 3 years old. He was seen next as an adolescent playing his father’s Bachpan. All that I have written are well known facts about this actor, who in later years turned a producer-director much like his father. Along with his brothers he tried to keep the studio and banner, set up by his showman father, aloft till 2017 when the iconic property in Mumbai’s Chembur area caught fire and collapsed during the shoot of a television reality show. The brothers then decided to pull down the shutters on a piece of history of Indian cinema.

Pancham’s Music – Eighties (1981-1990) -4 (1984)
————————————————
In today’s post we move on to Pancham’s music in 1984.
Pancham continued entertaining his audience by composing good music in this year ‘1984’ too. There were as many as seventeen movies (released) in this year 1984, where the music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman or our beloved Pancham Da.

Hullo Atuldom
“Saagar” (1985) was produced by G P Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy. Its story, screenplay and lyrics were written by Jawed Akhtar and RD Burman was music director. The movie had 7 songs of which the blog has 5 but in my opinion we have covered six songs as the sad version of ‘saagar kinaare dil ye pukaare’ is found in the comments of post; which means that with today’s post “Saagar” will be YYIIPPEEEED!!!

Hullo to all Atulites
March 13th is the death anniversary of Nasir Hussain. He who gave us some memorable films like Anarakali, Munimji , Paying Guest, Caravan , Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon , Tumsa Nahin Dekha , Teesri Manzil, Dil Deke Dekhon, Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hain etc. And then in my growing up years there were movies like Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hain, Manzil Manzil, Zabardast etc. Then he switched to being a producer for films that his son Mansoor Khan directed.

Today 21st October is the birthday of the dancing diva HELEN. And it is not possible to let it pass by without a song to show our love for her.
But that is the most difficult task for us atulites. Why? Because we have covered so many of her famous songs that one has to sit down with pen and paper to make a list of those songs that are left. In that respect I envy the various radio channels and TV programmes which will show the same set of songs on every occasion. I suspect that they don’t know the existence of the lesser known songs.

In my last post on the song from “Zehreela Insaan” (1974), I gave a short synopsis of the movie. This song, filmed on Rishi Kapoor and Moushumi Chatterjee, shows them in happier times. Since they are playing college students here, they have most probably bunked classes to meet and sing a song. This seems to be a popular haunt with the main protagonist of the film. Three songs of the film are shot here.
