‘Mere Jeewan Saathi-1972’ is well known for his music and its songs composed by R.D.Burman. “Sunayna” (1979) was a Rajshree Productions movie. It was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Hiren Nag. The movie had Rameshwari, the recently discovered sensation of “Dulhan wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye”(1977) fame in title role. Naseeruddin Shah, Vijayendra, Jagdeep, Pinchoo Kapoor, Gayatri, Anand Balraj, Rajendranath, Mukri, Viju Khote, C S Dubey, Anand Joshi, Murad, Rajan Kapoor, Prakash Mishra, Pardesi, Kirti Kumar, Prem Prakash, Leela Mishra, Shriram Shashtri, Sudarshan Sethi, Amal Sen, Hansni, Kavita, Sulochana, Birbal, Tito, Sikandar e Azam etc were also there in the movie.

The last time I discussed my dogs was in february 2013, which was more than two years ago. My dogs were two years old at that time. Now they are four years old. So they have become twice as old as they were at that time.

I tend to confuse “Girl Friend”(1960) with “Boy Friend”(1961). “Girl Friend”(1960) was a directed by Satyen Bose for Basu Chitra Mandir, Bombay and it had Kishore Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Bipin Gupta, Nazeer Hussain, Leela Mishra, Jagdev, Dhumal, Gautam, Keshto, Master Anwar, Daisy Irani etc in it. “Boy Friend” (1961) on the other hand was directed by Naresh Sahgal for N S Fils, Bombay and it had Shammi Kapoor, Madhubala, Dharmendra, Dhumal, Maruti, Shivraj, Amirbai Karnataki, Radheshyam, Suresh Kumar, Kewal Kapoor, Prithvi Mahendra , Nishi etc in it.

Only if religion had not fallen out of favor with the film industry. Kya kahen, sab paise ki maya hai (what to say, it is all a money game). The producers say that the public is not interested. And so they will lose money if they make religious films. And so we have been seeing less and less of religious and spiritual themes on screen. Rather, I do not recall seeing any title that indicates a religious film, in the past decade or so.

Confined to B/C grade films for a large part of his career, Farooque Kaiser had to wait till 1958 before he could lay his claim to fame based on a song that would be recognized as a popular hit with the listening public.
