Making religious movies has traditionally been regarded as an economically non viable proposition by Bollywood movie makers. So big producers or production houses rarely ventured into this field. So it was left to C grade movie makers to make religious movies.

“Love In Tokyo” (1966) was a movie that came two years after the Tokyo Olympics, and it showed Indian viewers some stunning scenes that left Indians gasping. It was diffucult to believe that Japan, a country which was on the same boat as India just two decades ago had taken such rapid strides in just one generation.

Just like there are hit pairs of hero and heroine in movies, there used to be a hit pair of mother and child in 1950s. Meena Kumari would play mother of Daisy Irani in several movies.

Suno sajna papeehe ne

Laxmikant (of Laxmikant Pyarelal) played this song when he presented Vishesh Jaimala programme on Vividh Bharati in 1970. From the lyrics, it can be seen that it is indeed the title song of the movie, but all these days I was not aware of this fact.
