“Loafer” saw Mumtaz teaming up with Dharmendra. This movie was full of very popular songs. Laxmikant Pyarelal’s music and Anand Bakshi’s lyrics created songs which were quite a rage in those days.

Considering that it is Shailendra who wrote the lyrics and Shankar Jaikishan who composed the music, it could as well be Mukesh singing for Raj Kapoor, but here it is Kishore Kumar singing for himself in “Rangoli”.

Aayega aayega aane waala aayega

Though Lata Mangeshkar made her debut as a playback singer in 1947, it was not like she became a singing legend almost overnight. For three years she was just another struggler in Bollywood. But the song that catapulted her to nationwide name and fame was the 1949 song “Aayega aanewaala aayega” from “Mahal”.
