Though I have discussed as many as seven songs from “Nastik” (1954), I was not aware of this song till a few hours ago.
This song is a bhajan cum public lament. In this song, Ajit, Usha Kiran and others are sitting in a temple in front of the idols of gods and Ajit sings this song. The song states that non believers tend to blame God for their misdeeds, but their efforts to give a bad name to God cannot succeed. God’s flag will always fly high, come what may.

14th july is Madan Mohan’s death anniversary. When I searched for a few Madan Mohan songs to be discussed on this occassion, I came across some unbelievable gems and I was left wondering how I have missed out on these gems all these days. I regard myself as some sort of a research scholar on Madan Mohan can be caught unawares like this, then just imagine what undiscovered Madan Mohan gems still lie ahead of us, waiting to be discovered. We have covered about 27 % of all Madan Mohan songs, and the remaining songs contain many wonderful songs as I discovered. In fact, I decided to hold some Madan Mohan songs back for some other occasions too, that is how fantastic I found those songs to be.

I was aware of a movie called “Hanste Zakhm” but not “Hanste Aansoo” . It turns out that this movie called “Hanste Aansoo” (1950) had the “distinction” of becoming the first ever Hindi movie to get an “Adults” certificate for this movie. 🙂

I think I should have a category of songs called “songs that I thought were already discussed by I was wrong”. 🙂 There are many songs like this which I think have already been posted. so when a reader sends me a farmaish for that song or sends the lyrics of that song, I am surprised.

The title of the movie “Bikhhre Moti” (1951) gives enough statutory warning that this movie is a melancholic movie with melancholic songs. Indeed, this movie which had Jayant, Jeevan, Kamini Kaushal, Neelam, Nigar Sultana, Ranjana etc in it have just that kind of songs in it.

I have just come across this obscure song from an obscure movie called “Maang” (1950). This movie which was directed by Saghir Usmani, had actors like Zia,Wasti,Mubarak,Ramola,Amar,Pratima,Malhotra,Leela Pandey,Basu,Hemlata etc.Most of these names hardly ring any bells, obviously.

“Aan Baan” (1972) is one of the last movies of Rajendra Kumar as a hero. In this movie, he was paired with Rakhi, a heroine half his age. In any case, his days as Jubilee Kumar were behind him as by that time Rajesh Khanna had taken over as the new box office God by that time.
