The image of Chitragupt is that of a music director – a creator of a treasure trove of heavenly melodies that are so numerous that a good representative sampler will take a long time to compile. In a career that lasted almost five decades in the industry, he composed music for almost 150 films in Hindi and Bhojpuri. Most of the time he had to be content with B/C grade stunt films and religious films, with a few sorties into the A grade categories. This is a song from Sagar Movietone’s film ” Service Ltd”-39. It was a social cum crime cum mystery cum comedy film directed by Chimanlal Luhar, a well known director of those times. The music was by Anupam Ghatak, Lyricists were Zia Sarhadi and Pt.Indra and the cast included Surendra, Maya Banerjee, Bibbo, Yakub, Kayam Ali, Bhudo, Sankatha and other Sagars regulars.
