“Mera Ghar Mere Bachche” (1960) was a Minerva Movietone movie. It was directed by Sohrab Modi. The movie had Sohrab Modi, Subbiraj,Sulochana, Naaz, Balraj, Daisy Irani, Kavita, Nana Palsikar, Sudesh Kumar etc in it.

Ravi made his debut as a music director in 1955 and he composed music for over 110 Hindi movies during his long and successful career. Assuming that there were 8 songs on an average in each of his movies, he has composed some 900 sings in his Hindi movie career as a music director.

I was aware of the film Suhagan (1964) but never knew that one more film by the same name was released in 1954. In fact, I found that most of the websites including IMD jumbled the details of both these films in Suhagan (1954). As per Indian Film Trade website, the film was produced by Datta Dharmadhikari, a Marathi film veteran who has been known for producing and directing family drama films. Anant Mane, also a veteran Marathi film director, directed the film. The star cast included Geeta Bali and Jaswant in the lead role and Shyam Kumar, Sulochana, Vijaylaxmi, Janakidas in subsidiary roles.

“Rajput” (1982) was produced by Musheer-Riaz and it was directed by Vijay Anand. The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini and Dharmendra, all of them towards the fag end of their careers, in lead roles.

Lullabies are a much loved category of songs in Hindi movies. Most lullabies are sung by female singers as one would expect. But there are exceptions where male singers too have sung lullabies.

I became aware of the movie “Zindagi” (1940) only just recently, but I was familiar with a couple of songs from this movie for some four decades. I had been listening to these songs at the srtoke of 8 AM on radio many a times in 1970s.

While posting lullaby songs, once I had commented that these lullabies are mostly sung by female singers and lullabies sung by male singers are very rare.
